True Story Pictures produces documentaries that are life-story centric.

The Arts Interviews series was created to celebrate older regional artists and educate the community about their life stories, creative work, and significant contributions to Memphis and the art world. This program produces one DVD for each artist that is highlighted in the series. Each DVD includes an in-depth life story interview with the featured artist in his/her studio environment or home, digital slide shows of the artist’s creative work, and a teacher’s guide of questions to stimulate discussion. The Arts Interviews DVDs are $24.95 each for home use or $34.95 each for educational or institutional use. Proceeds from the sales of the DVDs go back into the program, so TSP can continue to document the life stories of older artists in our community. Our program goal is to produce at least three new artist DVDs each year.

Voices of Jericho: Stories of Jail Diversion is a short documentary that tells the story of three individuals who are clients of Shelby County’s Jericho Project, an innovative jail diversion program for people with serious mental illness. Leveling the Playing Field: 20 Years of Bridge Builders, a new documentary produced by True Story Pictures in partnership with BRIDGES, shares the unique Memphis story of the Bridge Builders® program, which has provided leadership and diversity training to high school students for the past 20 years. Leveling the Playing Field is a creative, thought-provoking documentary that incorporates images and footage from the BRIDGES archive plus new interviews with the program’s founder, current and past directors, community leaders and most importantly, program participants from over the years. The DVD includes a discussion guide that can be used for education purposes and community enrichment. Click here to purchase this film.
